Ellmore Construction is clearly on the right track after clinching one of its largest contracts to date with a £3.3 million refurbishment of the National Railway Museum in York.
The 12 month contract, which is due to be completed in August 2007, surpasses our previous biggest project at Sheffield Cathedral.
Work started in late July on the NRM's Search Engine project with a number of internal refurbishments required to house the new initiative at the popular venue.
Andrew Scott, Head of the Museum, explained: "Search Engine is our long-term project to open up the Museum's archives to the public. Two years from now, we will finally have moved the NRM's hidden library & archive collections out from the shadows and into the main public spaces of the museum."
"This is fantastic news for the company and comes just a few months another large contract award at Sheffield Cathedral.
"It's a clear sign that we are able to compete at a higher level for construction contracts across the Yorkshire region and we are able to deliver the flexibility, high standards and economies of scale enjoyed by larger building firms.
"The end result will be a museum that will continue to be enjoyed by thousands of visitors every day," added Steve. |
